• King’s Gate Club has selected Florida Shores Bank (one of the highest rated banks in southwest Florida) for its banking source. You will notice that all future payments will be sent to a different address than was used this past year. If you use on line banking, you will have a new account number with a new address. DON’T SEND THE PAYMENT TO THE OLD ADDRESS. If you have automatic withdrawal, nothing will change. If you have any questions, see Michele.


• Hats off to Jim Purkey and his team of volunteers – Jack Varty, Gary Pitt, Don Lauzun, Rex Ingerick & Ray Angelo – who undertook the task of completely overhauling the mini golf course. They removed the carpet, the rotten wood, formed a concrete curb around each hole, cleaned and reinstalled the carpet and put in new hole markers and scoring pads. They also removed most of the plants and mulch beds and cleared a path for the rain water to properly drain away from the golf holes. It is rumored that golf tournaments are in the works with cash prizes for the winners.


• There is a persistent roof leak over the video library. We have had the roofer out who did some repairs but the leak is still there. We are continuing to hunt for it and will find it before the rainy season arrives.


• The landscape committee and several other volunteers have done a wonderful job with the flowers and mulch around the pool and at the front entrance. It all looks so much better with the ladies touch. Thanks to Mary Jane Shelby, Martha Hicks and their committee.


• For over two years we have had Nanak’s doing the mowing, trimming and blowing. Nanak’s has recently sold their company to ValleyCrest, a national landscaping firm headquarted in Calabasas, California. As before, a change in landscape personnel means a whole new learning curve for the crews. Fortunately, some of the Nanak’s personnel are still working our property. If you have any difficulty or complaints, please let the office know as soon as possible, hopefully before the crews leave for the day.


• Four of the original pool side tables were becoming cracked and wobbly. They have been replaced with new ones that match the other newer tables. The pool chairs and lounges are getting old but by having the slings replaced they are still serviceable. Tom and I have been looking for replacement furniture but haven’t found anything affordable that looks acceptable.


• R/O plant had a 1,500 gallon pressure tank that maintained a constant water pressure to the club. It was replaced with a more reliable bladder tank almost a year ago and the old tank was finally removed from the plant last month. We will add a second bladder tank which will give the water system a backup for maintaining constant water pressure.


• For those of you that have installed Digital Adaptor boxes for your TV’s and do not receive the in-house news channel, Call Comcast, explain the problem and ask for a technician to come out to check the signal strength and the wiring.


• The stage lighting has been ordered and will be installed by some of our volunteers and wired up by a commercial electrician. Hopefully all will be ready before the season is over this year.


• The woodworking shop has been busy lately with the talented craftsmen turning out all sorts of treasures for the King’s Gate Fair next month. Some of their pieces are beautifully detailed and should fetch a pretty penny at the sale. Incidentally we have handed out 120 keys to the woodworking shop to our residents. Thank goodness they all do not try to use the shop at the same time.
